Hi all!
Can anyone help me figure out a way to find out just what size fuel tank I
have? I have a '97 Dakota Sport 4x4, 5.2L, w/ the heavy duty towing
package. As part of that towing package, on the dealer specs, I supposedly
have a 22 gallon fuel tank. BUT, neither the gas gauge on my dash nor the
overhead computer seems to know it. When they say I'm truly just about
empty, and I go to the gas station to fill up, I can put very nearly 19
gallons in. (Does that mean the tank really WAS nearly empty, or does that
mean I've had an invisible extra three gallons of gas in there each time?)
So, other than running the truck until it runs out of gas, does anyone have
any idea how I can confirm what size fuel tank I have?
