Good to know. :-) I just assumed all diesels had the larger
filler neck but I guess not. I actually drove a VW Rabbit diesel
back in high school (50mpg, usually put about 10 gallons in it every
couple of weeks; not a rocket sled, but a good car) but I don't
remember what size the filler neck was. I used to fill it from
the diesel tank on our farm that we used for the tractors. We
were paying $0.60/gallon for that stuff, so I could drive for
about 2 weeks on about $6.00 worth of gas. I think the Cuda
probably burns through that much just idling up to temp! ;-)

As far as the flow goes, yeah the larger nozzles definitely have
the potential to flow more. :-) They seem to be all over the board
though; I have used pumps with the big nozzles that don't go any
faster than an unleaded pump, some that definitely go faster but
I can still fill the tank full blast, and others where I could
barely get to the first indent without having gas spit back out
the filler neck. I'll never forget one of the first few times
I filled up the Ram 3500 - this was on my way back from Florida;
I was at a truck stop and I couldn't even get the lever to the
first indent on the lock without the gas spitting back out
at me. While I'm filling up, a tractor trailer pulls ino the next
booth; the driver got out, put the nozzle from the pump on his left
into the left tank and locked it on full blast, then put the nozzle
from the pump on his right into the right tank and locked it at full
blast, and proceeded to wash his windows while he waited for the
tanks to fill. I'm not sure what his capacity was, but that truck
could hold just a wee bit of fuel. :-)
