Holy crap, that is a bunch of broken rings...amazing that they stayed in the
grooves.

Subject: DML: V6 Rebuild/Upgrade - Update
Well, got the call from the machine shop on the status and cause of failure:
(1) Cylinders 1,3,2,and 6 all had busted rings (luckily they were all just
hanging onto the ring grooves on the pistons)
(2) Crank has a very minor groove on the #1 journal (can be easily polished
out)
Hehehehehe...running a 15 second 1/4 mile on 4 3/4 cylinders...yeah baby!
New pistons are already being weighed and matched, rings just arrived today
(gapless), and the engine should be reassembled by the middle of next week.
Head porting and cleanup being done as well.
