If Mr. Mastalans left ya with any tools, maybe you can enlarge the extruded
piece to have more material on the back of the retainer go into the shoe...
Either that, or you can take a peek at the hole in the shoe...see if the
edge is slighty rounded off...if you can create a sharper corner on the
lower side of it with a file or a reamer, you might burr it up enuff to hold
better...
