Tom,

Will this amp be pushing the sub only or will it also be driving components.
For that small of a compartment area it would be ideal to run a single
multi-channel amp like a kicker, precision power, or a zapco. Zapco has a
600.6 that is untouchable and kicker has its 800.4 that has been in
circulation for ever. That kicker solobaric will actually handle a lot more
than just 200w, especially with the right enclosure. They work best in a
slightly larger ported box. Team Kicker ran 148 decibles on a single
modified 8" solobaric sub in a huge ported box (4-6 cu. ft.) and ran it with
I believe 2 kicker 1000.1 class D amps!

Subject: DML: Amplifier Opinions...

Hey Everybody...

I picked up a little Kicker 8" L5 Solobaric subwoofer recently, and am
trying to decide what brand amplifier to go with... I haven't really kept up
with who makes the best equipment for the right price for the last couple of
years...

The subwoofer power handling is 600 peak, 300 RMS...
It's the dual, 2-ohm voice coil model... Can be run in parallel (1-ohm) or
series (4-ohm)

I would like to run about 200-250 watts RMS through the sub...

Here is the question... In your opinion, what brands are good and are
reasonably priced nowadays?

This is for my 96 Dakota, so it is Dakota content... He he he!

Thanks in advance!
