No easy way to do that. However, you can take off the upper radiator
support, remove the radiator, and lower the condenser (if equipped). Takes
only about 30 minutes to take the engine out that way - slides forward and
out.

On my '97 3.9L, we did it this way (also disconnecting the motor mounts at
the engine...not the frame)...slides right out. (We do it this way all the
time on the 3.9/4.7/5.2/5.9 and Diesels at work - much quicker than the way
the manual wants it done.)

Is there a chance the engine can be removed without sliding the tranny back
in a 318 automatic, or is there no way the torque converter will clear the
bell housing? Maybe with all the front accessories, accessory bracket,
Viper Fan/Radiator gone?
How about a 3.9 manual (more room and no TC)?
