Subject: DML: Interesting day with the 4.7

Been a member for a while, most people probably remember me. But have been
inactive for a while. Figured I had to share my day with the Dak. It's a 02,
just about to turn 37k, got to work this morning and the heat smelled funny.
Got out of truck, opened the hood and the whole right side of the motor is
covered in oil.. Called up Daimler Chrysler roadside assistance and they
came
and picked the truck up and brought it to the local dealer. It turns out the
oil breather tube was kinked, and the oil dipstick was missing. It would
seem
pressure built up and ejected the dipstick. While waiting for the truck I
decided to walk the road into work, and I found the handle portion of the
dipstick. Didn't think it was possible, but it happened. The whole adventure
ended up costing me $37. $5 for the dipstick, which they took out of an 05
Dak
on the lot and the rest labor. My truck has spent it's life in the south,
but
for the last month I have been in the NH/ME area and it was 24 degrees this
morning, which probably played a part in it.

By the way, I highly recommend the the Service Department at Port City Dodge
in
Portsmouth NH...
