A floor jack and two hammers (one to tap on each side of the knuckle at the
ball joint to free it up).

Subject: DML: coil spring removal
For my 99 2WD, the FSM says to use the spring compressor tool to be able to
release the lower all joint from the knuckle.
Since i'll have the truck up on stands at the frame, wouldn't i be able to
just use a floor jack to push the lower control arm up enough?
I realize i could make a tool like in the manual, but am hoping the tool is
just a convenience.
thanks,
eric
