Hey, Mike!

<snip> so here's what im looking for....something fairly capable in adverse
weather,
yet reasonably quiet on the highway(i commute 40 miles a day), so something
with a long tread life too....

here's my top 2 so far:

 BFG all-terrain K/O's
 Bridgestone Dueler A/T revo<snip>

I can't speak for the Bridgestones, but I've got BFG 32 X11.50s on the
DAKSY. I'm at 50K +
on them & they still have 1/4 inch of tread ...They ride fairly quiet on the
highway...They go really well in the snow...They hold the road in the
rain...I do lose a little traction if I drop the clutch from a dead stop, so
pulling into heavy traffic in the rain takes some "feathering" of the
clutch, but I'd recommend em to anyone...
Not to mention the fact that the larger profile adds to the "bulldog" look
of my DAK!
As I recall they were about $130 each at Sears....
