I use to have a '93 which I put a body lift on. My problem was it wouldn't
stay in 2nd until I released the clutch. Due to the body lift, the stick
would hit the floor pan hump, I had to trim a little metal off so it
wouldn't make contact...

Mine started the same thing after i put the body lift on.
