I think I figured out what happened.........we've had some very COLD days
here and on a few mornings before work and nights before heading home from
work I let the Neon warm up some
before driving it.

I let it idle a couple times for 5-10 minutes before heading to work or
heading on home for the night.

That probably had a lot to do with it, I had forgotten about that.

Plus it was probably running a little richer than normal due to the Cold
temps.......

Ron, you need to measure mileage by mpg. The Neon has an 11 gallon tank.
Your truck had a 22 (I think). My '03 Neon R/T got a solid 25 mpg around
town
with my lead foot and steeper gearing than your car. You should be doing
pretty well.
