If he has a 2.2L, he may have the 7 ¼” rear in his truck but the 8 ¼” will bolt
in its place. If he does become concerned about the bolt pattern, IIRC, the 8
¼”axle shafts are interchangeable. Here’s what my parts list has listed for the
8 ¼” shafts.
87-90, 5 lug, 27 spline, 30 ¾” length, OEM part# 4348510
91-96, 6 lug, 27 spline, 30 ¾” length, OEM part# 4506115
There are a couple of companies that sell those aftermarket.
