wrong mind you - but I have never ever heard or seen of ceramic SHOES

As the current resident AZ parts service manager, I'll throw my opinion
out there on our products - the Duralast discs and drums are pretty good
in my opinon. I have had virtually no complaints about them. The
Duralast limited lifetime shoes are 'prolly just as good as anyone elses
shoes. When possible - go with rivited and stay away from bonded/glued
shoes. Regardless of who makes or sells them - I have seen bonded
friction material come off of shoes. Rivits are better.
As for pads - I have Performance Friction's Carbon Metallics on the Ram
- pretty good stopping power if you ask me. They do dust a little more,
or at least its more obvious due to the carbon content in the pad, but
brake dust isn't a concern for me. I clean the wheels anyway.
The Duralast Gold pads are really nice pads - designed to be formula
specific pads to meet and exceed OEM standards. Almost all come with
stainless shims on the back - which are a nice touch. Pads usually
(depending on application) come with the groves down the center and
chamfered edges. I have not tried these pads yet - but plan on using
them on my moms Explorer.
Not trying to push AZ products over anyone elses - just giving you my
take on them.
