I switched over to a newer intake manifold (2000+ model) without the plenum
divider, port matched all the intake ports to the heads, smoothed the
runners (internally as well) - you can use a 3/4" sanding belt for this, and
cleaned up all casting flash from the manifold. Injector holes radiused as
well (head side). I also added a cooling system crossover at the back of
the manifold as that's where the Magnum engines have hot-spots at the heads
(this includes the 5.2/5.9L's with the M1 manifold).
I definitely gained some mid-range...pulls harder and smoother from
2200-5000rpm.

What exactly can be done to the stock intake without losing any bottom end
(how much to take off the divider, runner etc.). I've heard of filling the
plenum but I would have to send it somewhere for that, right?
