When I swapped mine from 2.5L to a 3.9L a few weeks ago.. We ended up doing
option 2. Again, we didn't bother to use the load leveler, which would have
made it much easier. All in all.. it wasn't that terrible.. Biggest pain
was gettign the input shaft. clutch/ and new pilot bearing to line up.
    Aside from that method.. PIA.. I think second best option would be #1.
