You guys might be on to something here... I don't need it too bad for my
setup, but it sounds neat.
I got one of those strap-on mirrors from the local RV place, because it was
cheap and locally available. It adds another several inches to my field of
view, so I can see a car behind the trailer a little better. What's good about
the cheapo ($15) one I got is that you can turn the mirror vertically, letting
me see the trailer's wheels. That way I can see if I'm about to curb-check,
and it helps backing as well. What's NOT good about these is the vibration.
Even sitting still with the engine running, the view jumps significantly. At
highway speed you can tell there's a vehicle there, but that's about it. So, I
imagine the vibration could be an issue with any setup if not very securely
mounted.
