I'm not sure either, but actually the way the site is set up, its
easy just to order by application, so 2003 4.7L (or whatever) would
do the trick. I just looked that up on the site, and the part number
it is showing is HP2004, which is the same as the 3.9l V6 as well
as the 318 and 360. (Does that sound right? Same filter for the 4.7
as the previous engines?) Interestingly, the filter it is showing (in
2004/2005) for the 3.7l V6 is the HP2009, which appears to be about
twice the size! Maybe a clearance issue there, just kinda funny to
see a filter for a small V6 be larger than the one for a much
bigger V8.
Speaking of which, are there any K&N filter users out there
who know of a larger filter which will fit my GenII 318 Dak? I
know that a lot of these filters have the same base, its just
that the case and filtering medium is longer; I figure a bigger
filter is better, assuming I actually have the clearance to
use it. Anybody using a different K&N than the HP2004?
