Are we talking Google Maps, or Google Earth?
Google Earth is at http://earth.google.com. It's quite impressive, but it's a
lot more involved than Maps. Earth is a stand-alone application, only runs
on Windows, and generates 3D renderings of the planet. Maps runs in your web
browser and shows 2D maps and satellite images.
