I know on my truck if both come on it indicates a problem in the brake system.
For me it was always excessive pedal travel, either due to air in the lines or
a bad master cylinder. On mine it always came on under braking though, and
there never were any codes associated with it. OBDI though, so it might be
different for the newer trucks.
