Actually it is called price gouging and I would like to see state
governments step in an investigate. When 9/11 happened the same thing
happened with gas prices, they jumped up extremely high, and there were
investigations and probably fines levied against certain gas stations. The
reason for this jump was the Katrina storm, and they are raising their
prices based on reduced output which is a crock of poo. Anyway I am
guessing it isn't really considered gouging this time because this time
around it isn't the patriotic thing to do (go after gougers) In any case it
is the future options traders that are truly driving the price of crude up.
The bad thing is we will see a huge impact on our economy beyond what you
just see at the pumps.
