LA engine (like the 5.2 Magnum) 318 dates to 1968.
There was an earlier, A-engine 318 that was made from
1957 to 1967. The first LA engine was built in 1964,
and that was the 273.

'Classic' is a term usually denoted to something
timeless in design, usually in cars related more to
really popular old cars- Tri five Chevies, '67-'69
Camaros, etc. To call just anything old 'classic' is
stupid. And considering all of my cars are older than
any 5.2 Magnum engines, and are not considered
'classics', my answer to your question would be
'hardly'.
