Hey, Miggity...
<snip> Does the huummmmmmmm change pitch as you go faster?<snip>
Nope...but it seems to be more apparent when I'm using the tranny to slow
the DAKSY...
<snip> Does the hhuummmmmm change pitch when the truck changes gears?<snip>
Not that I noticed, but I'll check it out...
<snip>If it's a steady sound that doesn't change as you change gears, then
it may be something in your rear
diff.<snip>
I just changed the rear fliud w/i the last 5K & there's no sign of leakage
at the RTV seal...
<snip>If it changes pitch when you change gears, it may be tranny
related<snip>
See <snip> #2...
<snip> Generally T-Cases don't hummmmmmmmm unless they are engaged, and
you'd have
to be LLOOOOWW on fluid for that to happen<snip>
It was lowwww & dirty & it's now full & clean...
<snip>T-Cases usually clunk and make other horrible noises<snip>
Nothing horrible, yet...
<snip>Have you cheked your hub bearings and CV joints<snip>
Right front bearing/hub is brand new...Driver side seems fine...
<snip> Front U-joints diff, and bearings?<snip>
No...wouldn't that hummmmmmm only when the x-fer case is engaged?
<snip>I'd hate to see you go through all the trouble of f*ckin' with that
T-case and it turn out to be something totally
different<snip>
I changed the yoke seal because it & the cross member under it were
WET...I'm thinkin thast there may be a seal further forward that may be the
cause...
I will change the front diff fluid tomorrow nite if I have time after
work...
Thanx for the input...
