Jon, that's what i was thinking originally.
Get one with at least 400cc's (and 4x4 of course) and a reverse gear, and a
lot of the work would be done, just have to modify the output for the front
wheels as with the buggy, the distance between the tranny and the front end
is longer than an ATV.
As for power, looking online, 250cc buggies (2wd though) seem to be
advertised for hitting 40-50 mph. Ya i know "don't believe the hype" but
when different companies are listing similar top speeds, it lends some
credability to their claims.

As for crawler vs. jumper, that's what the low range is for in that 4x4 ATV.
  Doesn't your yellow ATV have a low range? You can get both ends of the
performance spectrum. ;)
And you could always change the low-gear in the transfer case to get extra
low. :D
