Sorry, but Andy's wrong. Any limited slip is going to completely replace
the carrier, just like putting in a Detroit locker or full spool. You can
only get away with not setting up the gears if you keep the carrier you
have now. Your traction aid options at that point are a mini spool,
"lunchbox" locker that replaces the spider gears, or welding your gears.
Since you're looking for a stock limited slip I don't think any of these
options would appeal to you.

If you do look for an aftermarket limited slip, see if anyone makes a
helical gear LSD for the 8.25, it'll last a lot longer and perform more
reliably than a clutch-type limited slip.

Since I didn't keep my stock rearend I don't know what the aftermarket is
like for the 8.25, so... good luck!
