My wife's 03 turbo PT Cruiser has a switch on the dash to disable the traction
control. With the traction control ON nailing the gas from a stop you will spin
the tires about 1/2 way across an intersection before the traction control
catches up and reals it in (the TRAC light in the dash will be flashing like
crazy). With the traction control turned off you will smoke the tires
completely across an intersection and will also likely get enough wheel hop
that you will take your foot out of it before then.
Now my 68 Barracuda the only way you can keep it from spinning the tires is if
you feed it gas like you had an egg betwen your foot and the gas pedal! :)
