If the rubber hose replacement ID fits snug over the OD of the hard
lines, I don't use any additional sealant. I might use a bit of water to
slip it on there, but nothing else afterwards. A good parts store will
have a wide variety of rubber emissions/vacuum hose to choose from.
Bring in a sample of your broken hard line. They should be able to set
you up.
