Exhaust patching

So, it turns out that I do have an exhaust leak after all. If you remember,
after my bumper bender, I mentioned that I thought the engine sounded a bit
different. Last night I finally found a hole in the tailpipe, just a bit
behind the muffler. I'm not sure if it's the only one, but I didn't see
anything else.

Looks like it's about the diameter of a pencil. I'm not sure if the impact
knocked off something that was already weak, or if it's just that I was
listening to it more carefully.

Can stuff like this be patched, or is it more effective to try to replace the
pipe? I'm going to need an emissions test done in January before I renew my
registration :-P. I'm pretty sure they'll reject it with any holes anywhere
in the exhaust, and I'm sure whatever shop I have perform the test will be
more than happy to offer me an entirely new exhaust system, plus installation.
