Well, it took me...uh...over 2 hours. Subaru does *not* want me inside
that dash. Many screws. 2 screws that are more or less "blind" (inside
the ashtray mount, oriented vertically so you have to put a shorty
screwdriver in and feel around for the head). And then right before I
slid the new stereo in, I had to reconnect the old one because I forgot
to eject the CDs it was holding hostage. And then I had to perform some
creative remodeling on the center console to route some wires, 2 of
which (power and ground) just barely reached.

along the

Antenna has a 21' lead on it. I couldn't find a good way to route it to
the rear without pulling up every piece of trim on the passenger's side.
~ So I ran under the passenger side doorsill, up the front of the
doorjamb, into the fender, through a rubber "plug" at the intersection
of the windshield, cowl, A-pillar and fender, and up the groove between
the glass and A-pillar. That took me a good 30 minutes to get worked
out alone. Just need to put the little 6" cover on the last bit of line
and tack the wire down with some Silicone and I'm good.
