a half cup? That's a LOT to leak out of a diff that only holds like 2
pints. That would probably cover like 2 square feet on the ground....
remember how far liquids spread on the ground.

odd, I'm remembering my vent tube being on the passenger side of the
radiator up at the top of the core support. unless that was the tcase
vent?

the only way for fluid to leak out the vent tube is either for it to
get displaced by something else in the diff (water?) or for the diff to
get hot enough that the fluid expands enough to push some out. it
would have had to be severely overfilled to do that though, I think.
