The Bend Pak XL-9X lift arrived yesterday on a lift gate truck. I was
told that they could take the pallet jack and move it off the truck to the
lift gate and get it in my shop.
Uh, NOPE.....
The length of the lift itself and the way the pallet jack moves we
couldn't swing it sideways on the liftgate and be able to lower it down and
off the gate.
Luckily I was able to get the 3 guys who framed the shop who were working
on the house down the street to come and help get it off the truck. At
1400 lbs it was fun to say the least. We were able to get it off the back
of the truck and moved in about 20 minutes with a couple of pieces of
plywood to slide it on and the truckdriver who operated the liftgate
slowly so it didn't come shooting out. Once it was on the ground we were
able to move it on the pallet jack to where it will go.
Now to get enough muscle to move the posts upright and slid into
position, drill the holes for the anchors and attach the pump. I'm still
waiting on the electrical inspection so it will be a while before it is
operational.
Advice to those contemplating buying a lift, Pay the extra fees for
delivery or have a forklift available to get it off the truck.
