   I don't know anything about the Neon motors, but if its just bent
valves from a broken timing chain/belt, you can probably get away with
slapping a new timing belt on and a fresh set of valves, assuming the
pistons are still OK of course.

  When I shifted into 2nd instead of 4th at the top end of the track
a few years ago in my 318 Dak, after I fired the engine back up, it
was shaking so badly that I thought maybe I had broken a motor mount.
The truck still got me home that night though (90 miles), and turned
out to be just a few bent valves. After they were replaced, it was as
good as new.
