if pulling is going to be your primary use for the truck, get the 3/4
ton cummins. you know you won't regret it, and it'll be far easier
on the wallet for $/mi than a Dakota or Durango, doubly so when towing.
I'd hang on to the XJ until you stumble across the right Ram. I'd
even settle for a F250. Actually, to be honest, since you're stuck
with an automatic, I'd get the Ford - you can't get the good auto
behind a Cummins until what, 2002? 2003? forget exactly when the
48RE came out.... anyway, if you want to soup it up or tow hard, the
Ford auto will seriously outlast the Dodge auto, PowerStroke to
Cummins.....
