mine were *definitely* bolted.
I was going to make a custom center console ages ago and never got around
to it. I got as far as pulling the stock console/armrest and making a
quick wood frame under a much thinner seat pad and covering it with the
factory fabric, but it's been like that for probably 4-5 years now. When
I re-do my emergency brakes I'll get that finished up since I'm likely to
be doing two center levers, one for each rear brake for cutting brakes.

I can't remember clearly enough whether I pulled the console part first
with rachet wrenches or whether I did that when I was replacing my broken
transfer case and had my seats out, for whatever reason that was. I don't
think I took any pictures at all or that part of the job, so I'm pretty
useless....
