I removed the drivers seat in my 98 a long time ago to run a CB antenna
cable and I seem to recall that the seat frame and the center console were
welded together. I had to use my air chisel to break the spot welds. A
ratchet wrench also helps in there to loosen the bolts. Its either that or a
lot of patience and a regular box wrench. Anybody else have a similar
experience or am I mistaken about the welds?

Is it really necessary to remove the 2 bucket seats to
remove the middle console? I cant seem to get a
ratchet under the seat to unbolt it. I need to take
measurements of distance between factory bolt
locations for a custom speaker box/console I have
envisioned to make.
