AAM, American Axle [and?] Manufacturing builds rearends for DC and GM
trucks.

that would be the AAM 10.5", not to be confused with the Sterling 10.25"
which I have in the back of my Dakota, which came under 3/4 and 1 ton
Fords from 1986 or so through about 1999 when it was replaced by the
Sterling 10.5" which improved pinion strength but is otherwise basically
the same axle

I think all half ton Dodges will have the chrysler 9.25"

Not sure if they're still using that or if they moved to the AAM 10 bolt
at some point. I'm pretty sure the only way to get a 1500 Ram with a
10.5" is the Mega Cab on the 2500 chassis that they're calling a 1500
sometimes (which I really don't get at all)
