don't know, haven't done it. there may be something unswitched in
the interior fuse panel/PDC but I don't know.

if it's low draw stuff, grab an unused circuit from the in-dash fuse
panel. I ran a 12awg wire from a spade put in an unused, ignition
switched source in there to run my Rancho compressor, compass, V-1,
CB, GPS, extra gauges and a few other things. used BUS glass fuses
behind the center knee bolster since they're extremely low profile.

my handle is cracked and likes to fall off sometimes. Without
turning around a looking at my FSM I can tell you with 90% certainty
that you need a momentary switch, not a toggle, and that the wires
are red or orange with a white tracer.

'98 FSM confirms it is a N.O. momentary switch (p.14-35)
'98 FSM says the OD switch is a OR/WT wire (orange w/ white trace) to
the PCM with a black wire to ground (p.8W-31-4).

If your wiring matches a '98, grounding the OR/WT wire from the
steering column harness to ground momentarily will switch your
overdrive.

lower intake gasket? you mean the belly pan or something else? if so,
read Jon's post from yesterday on the subject.
