Sadly, I won't have a companion for the trip so I'll be aiming to
make time on the pavement. I'll be leaving Friday after work,
arriving at Lone Duck Sunday early evening if all goes well. On the
other end, planning to depart Lone Duck Friday early evening to be
back here in NY Sunday night. Probably taking the northern (slightly
out of the way) route on my way west to see Barry briefly if that
works out.
Assuming I'm driving the Dakota (if I'm not broke and it's not broke,
I will be, otherwise I'll drive the Jet) I don't know how fast I'll
be going. It'll hopefully be regeared by then and I'm not sure where
it'll be comfortable RPM-wise for cruising. It likes 80-85 on OD or
70 in 3rd now, it'll probably be happy 70-80 in OD after the gear swap.
Have way too much work to do in the next month. At least I have a
deadline before the National Meet so all bugs should be mostly worked
out by then for the solo cross country jaunt.
