Hmmm... even if you won't have the buggy done, can't you compromise and bring
your Jeep? Or has it already been sold? Even if it burns more gas, I'd guess
it would still be cheaper than renting one there.

A Google search for Colorado Jeep rental turned this up just on the first page:

http://www.mountainhighrentals.com/
http://www.rockymountainjeeprentals.com/

http://www.coloradodirectory.com/jeeping/jeepingA-Z.html
http://4wheeldrive.about.com/od/coloradojeep4x4rentals/

Also most of the standard places like Thrifty, Budget, Enterprise, etc. will
rent SUVs. That's what Jon is doing, you'll have to ask him which specific
company he signed up with. He mentioned they had two classes of SUVs: large
("Grand Cherokee or similar") and small ("Wrangler or similar"). Ed's guess
is that "Wrangler or similar" means they'll be getting a 1987 Samurai.

What you'll get from a regular rental company will be stock, but you'll be
able to keep up with those of us in the wuss club (which might be everyone at
this rate). The modified Jeeps are pretty expensive. The first company I
looked at didn't seem too bad, until I noticed that they were quoting a price
per person, assuming you were splitting the cost between four people. So
multiply the price by 4.
