Maybe we can make something work... Like for example if Tom or
somebody were able to get the Jeep as far as some place like Josh's
maybe (contingent of course on this being ok with Josh and his
homeowner's association), then that might get it close enough for
me to run out and get it back to my place. Obviously, the further
east somebody can get it the better, but I'm assuming that it should
be feasable to get it to at least Chicago, which looks like it would
be somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,000 miles and 18 hours round
trip for me. I could either flat tow it, or bring the trailer out,
I guess it might depend on how the Jeeps diffs are holding up. :-)
I suspect flat towing it would get the best gas mileage (the Ram probably
wouldn't even notice it was there). Anyhoo, I would guesstimate the
fuel costs (at current prices anyway) to be somewhere between $170-250,
depending on what type of mileage I was able to pull down. I might
even be able to do it without taking time off of work, if I time it
right; just leave really early on Saturday morning and do the whole
thing in one trip. Or, leave Friday after work, get most of the way
there, and grab the Jeep and take it home on Saturday. So anyway,
that's one possible option for some eastern part of the trip, assuming
of course that Jason wants to pay for the gas and the tolls and stuff
along that infamous stretch of 80/90. :-)
