RE: fuel tank + gripe

I did manage to put just a tad over 20 gallons in mine once. I thought
the engine would sputter and stop any minute before I finally found a
gas station. The fuel consumption computer sometimes gets a little
flakey at low levels. Even so, I miss not having it in the Tundra,
especially on an interstate when I see a sign, "next service area 30
miles" and the computer would tell me DTE 40.

However, Dodge in their infinite wisdom decided that 22 is too much for
you to use at once, so your gas light and Fuel Guage are set to start
howling at 16 gallons or so. This is possibly the most annoying part
of my truck, I have a 22 gallon tank, but have never put more than 17
gallons in it. I mean WTF is the point of those extra gallons? Before
you say it, yes, I know it cools the fuel pump, but Geez I wish they
could have come up with a better way to do it that didn't involve
permenently carrying around a bunch of extra but unuseable gas...
