I was going to suggest getting a tracphone or something like that at
Wal-Mart, but then of course you'd have to buy the phone which you don't
want to do. Only things I can think of are to call your existing cell
phone provider if they are an outfit that has a presence in the US to
see if anything can be done, or another option is to call some cell
phone outlet stores in the general area of the meet to see if they
have anything where you can rent a cell phone for a week. I know
that in Alaska, there are many places where hunters can rent a satelitte
phone so the concept is not necessarily unique; if you call around maybe
you will get lucky?
