Subject: DML: RE: Pressure Test
"I'm curious how one determines the condition of a cat through a vacuum
test?"
What I was told to do is to hook up a gauge to any vacuum port. If the
vacuum drops with increased RPM then there may be a blockage somewhere. It
made sense to me since if the cat was clogged the back pressure would
increase and vacuum would decrease. I realize there are many variables but
it sounded like a good, simple place to start. Anyway my vacuum just
increased as RPM's did.
