Shocks -- 2000 4x4; 5.2 L

I'm looking for a shock recommendation for my 2000 4x4 w/ a 5.2. ALthouh I
hate to admit it most of my driving is urban, and I like the soft ride my
worhtless shocks are giving. But, I do get in the woods and I carry at my
limits .... Do adjusatable work well and are they a hassle to adjust? Air,
right?
