Exhaust and crossmember clearances

Howdy DMLers!!

I finally got my whole exhaust installed yesterday. Yippie!!!

I ordered every part from rockauto.com. I can generate a list if anyone wants it.
I did have to cut away some of the old exhaust cause it was coming apart. I used a air
powered cut off saw. ;-)

<start note>
For the following questions, be aware that I have just replaced these items:

1. Walker catalytic converter #55131. This was the "direct-fit" kind that comes with
pipes welded to both ends of cat. Simply pull old converter. Then install new one.
I matched old with the new and they seemed to be a dead-on match.

2. DynoMax Super Turbo Kit #17443. This is all the other pipes, a muffler, and the
clamps all in one kit.

<end note>

Anyway, I noticed 2 minor things I was hoping someone may know an answer to.

1. There is a crossmember that the intermediate pipe* gets too close to. And I dont
know what to do about it. I measured about 1/10" between them. And the FSM says that
about 1" should exist between exhaust pipes and body/frame members. Any thoughts?
Perhaps some heat protection material can be put between them? Like heat wrap?

2. The tail pipe has two hangers welded on that are made of 3/8" round bar. The
hangers are supposed to go into the rubber insulators. My problem is both hangers look
like they are offset to the rear of vehicle by about 1 1/2". I am thinking that the
pipe may be a bit too long. And perhaps if i cut off about 1" of this pipe at the
muffler end that the hangers will line up with the insulators again. Any thoughts?

* 16" long pipe used between end of cat and front of muffler. used only on extended cab trucks.
