Just an FYI to those on the list, may save you a trip to the shop.
We got an a code on the 2003 durango this week for P0456 and started
looking for the problem. A 5/16" hose that is about 3" long right beside
the master cylinder to be the problem. It is on the backside of test port.
I found a crack in this hose, replaced it and cleared the codes. I then
sent an email off to a friend who is a Dodge Mechanic. He confirmed that
this little hose, and rusting of the inside of the gas cap to be the
biggest cause for triggering this code.
Just wanted to pass this little tidbit of info along to try and save
someone lots of time tracking this code down by looking at this little
hose first as it may be the problem.
