Did you pre-fill the new converter with fluid prior to
installation? Sounds to me like its either that or you
didn't get the torque converter completely seated when
it was installed. Especially since the linkage moves
and everything. Did you have any trouble getting the
eng and bell housing bokted up? If you had to use the
bolts to pull them together, not having the TC fully
seated is the likely culprit.
