RE: Front spring questions

With my '94 and '89, the rubber isolators went between the spring and
the frame. There was nothing between the spring and the lower control
arm. In my area, I had to get the rubber spring isolators from the
dealer. NAPA didn't even have them.

Spindles are the right way to do it, IMO. If I had it to do all over, I
would have bought the spindles. The lowering springs are too stiff for
the KYBs to control so it can get bouncy. I went with springs to lower
the front end because I got them as part of a swap for some other parts
and were what I had at the time I was doing ball joints. Heck, if I
ever get around to adding the de-arched leafs gathering dust in my
garage to the already shackled-and-hangered rear, then I might get those
spindles as well.

Let us know how they work out.

Tim

Subject: DML: Front spring questions

I am going to take apart the front suspension in a few weeks. I am
ordering all those
Moog parts that I put on the list. Plus I am goin to find the 2" drop
spindles from
Western Chassis. And I got KYB gas-a-just shocks on order from
rockauto.com

Question is:

 Between spring and frame
   - or-
Between spring and lower control arm....

is there a rubber ring or cushion? or is the spring just against the
metal in both
locations.

Thanks!!
