If you look at the yokes, you'll see some small indentations on each side of
the center piece - those face towards the camshaft. They are installed with
the number UP and the indentations towards the cam.

Subject: DML: Aligning yokes for lifters

I am in the process of putting my 3.9 back together. The head gasket
let loose between cylinders 3 and 5 but I caught it as soon as it
happened when I cranked the dakota. I sent the heads off while I had
the engine torn down and had some minor work done to them. While I
was at it I had a tapping noise from the lifters and decided to
replace all of them with new lifter and new pushrods. I am waiting on
a set of harland 1.7 roller rockers as well.

Anyway, I was going to put the lifters back in and their associated
hardware tonight so I could set the heads back on the engine tomorrow.
I cleaned everything up really well and read in the FSM that the
lifter aligning yokes should be "installed with the ARROW pointing
towards the camshaft." I can't find a friggin arrow on these yokes
for the life of me! Anyone have a clue what the FSM is talking about?
