After noticing that I get an extra couple mpg on the highway with a heavy load in the back of my 02 4wd quadcab, I decided I wanted to lower the back end permanently. The back of the truck sits about 2.5" higher than the front anyhow, and I don't need all the ground clearance. I ordered some 2" drop shackles and got some pinion shims. The only problem is that I can't get the bolt out that mounts the shackle to the frame. I got the nut off and the bolt will not budge. There really isn't much room for a big wind-up with the hammer to smack the bolt. I tried letting the axle hang and jacking it up a little to make sure the bole wasn't pinched. It simply will not budge. Any suggestions?
