magnum heads are notorious for cracking between the seats of the head. if
you already have the heads off, look for a set of HD replacement heads. if
you have a desire to do this, you can find a set of R/T heads (1.92 intake
valves) and use those as replacements, as they are thicker in those areas.

hello list

we took the 92 on the first trip up the hill to flagstaff from
phoenix this weekend.

It got hot at the top of the stoneman lake hill and we stopped
at munds park to cool it down.

no obvious leaks

it took about a gallon of water and we were off.

before leaving parks az i checked the water and it was still above the
cores

started the truck and it was rougher than normal for a few seconds then
cleared up.

comming back down the hill it got warm and we stopped at black canyon
city...it wasn't as hot as the day before but still took about a gallon of
water.

my wife then informed me the truck has been running rough in the mornings
when she first starts it.

i figured head gasket problem

i just called my machine guy to order a set of gaskets

he claims every set of 92 magnum heads that has come into his shop have
been cracked

anybody on the list come across the same problem???

rob and the ferts in phx
